Moving Well Stretch Classes
with Carey Nicholson
Starts April 16th

Mondays                   10 – 11:30 am*
Wednesdays             6:30 – 8 pm
Fridays                       10 – 11:30 am*

This non-aerobic class works with gravity, body weight, breath and relaxation to improve overall strength, flexibility, muscle tone, posture and alignment. The class structure is built on proven stretch and strength sequences, as taught and developed by Carey, while on faculty with The School of the Toronto Dance Theatre for over 15 years.

These sequences have their roots in Nicklaus, Feldenkreis, and yoga techniques and are supplemented with additional sequences drawn from the work of neuromuscular therapist Irene Dowd. Moving Well is moderate to almost intense and is suitable for adults and young adults of all ages and occupations. It is particularly helpful with pre-season sports conditioning, injury prevention and recovery, stress reduction and counters the negative impact of extensive sitting, now being recognized as a major contributor to poor physical wellbeing. We recommend that you consult with your healthcare practitioner prior to starting any new program of physical activity.

For your comfort and ease, please dress in comfortable loose clothing and bring a firm pillow, towel and/or yoga mat.

Open Improv Class
with Scott Barnes and Elysabeth Reavell-Roy
Starts April 18th

Wednesdays                        8 – 10 pm

Scott and Elysabeth are Improvisers … and so are you! While Scott has been improvising and teaching since the late 90s, Elysabeth is relatively new to the art-form; between them they understand all ability, skill, and comfort levels. Our drop in sessions feature a mixture of easy to learn games and exercises which build comfort and confidence, but may lead to uncontrollable laughter. The class is suited to anybody who wants to try and have fun while playing improvisation games. There is no dress code – but you may not wear Frowny-pants.

Fees
Single class                $10.00 at door only (cash/VISA/MC)
