NEW THIS SEASON! Auditionees between the ages of 16 – 21 are eligible for our Summer Apprenticeship program, combining onstage experience with classical theatre training. Auditionees accepted as apprentices will be enrolled in our Pre-Professional Performance Intensive Program, July 9 – 20 at no cost.

Required:
Youth (16 and over) and adults able to play a variety of age ranges.

Auditionees are asked to perform both a monologue and a song to make us laugh. There will also be a movement audition – please dress in comfortable clothes and footwear.

Rehearsals start in April and are tentatively scheduled for Monday, Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons, with some exceptions and subject to change.

AUDITION NOTICE

Required:
Youth (16 and over) and adults able to play a variety of age ranges and roles.

Auditionees are asked to perform a one minute (approx.) comedic/adventure monologue, and may be asked to do cold readings from the script. Script excerpts will be made available.

Rehearsals start in mid-April and are tentatively scheduled for Monday, Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons, with some weekday daytime rehearsals in late June & July.
Matinee Performances: There are both weekend and weekday matinee performances.

Most roles are non-union, non-paying. Select roles are being offered as paid positions of Summer Company Actor/Instructor, subject to funding.

Port Perry Summer Theatre – Company Manager
Timeframe: February 26 – August 26
1 Full-time (40 hours/wk), 26 week work placement contract position available.

Theatre 3×60 seeks a Company Manager to execute and support the company’s administration and production activities for the Port Perry Summer Theatre Festival including staged productions, cemetery walks and Durham Minifest one act play festival.

This is a government funded position with the following eligibility requirements:

  1. a)      30 years of age or under;
  2. b)      Post-secondary diploma or degree;
  3. c)       A Canadian citizen, or permanent resident or a protected person as defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act;
  4. d)      Legally entitled to work in Canada; and
  5. e)      Legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.

Previous formal theatre production & administration training and/or experience is ideal, arts management training and experience is also an asset, but previous theatre experience and knowledge in any area will also be considered, subject to demonstrated skillsets in event planning, budget management, contracts & scheduling, organization, personnel management and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced creative environment.

The applicant must also be able to demonstrate access to independent, reliable modes of transportation for the duration of the placement.

Position starts February 26 and ends August 26, 2018. There is the opportunity for continued employment after the placement ends.

Summer Company – Actor/Instructor(s)
Timeframe: June 4 – August 17 (11 weeks) anticipated.
Up to 6 Full-time (approx. 30-35 hours/week) positions available.

Theatre 3×60 seeks up to 6 actor/instructors for its 2017 Summer Festival Season to perform in a slate of fully staged productions, staged readings, cemetery walks; and to teach summer youth camps and participate in promotional theatre activities.

Successful candidates will be between the ages of 18 and 30, a registered full-time secondary or post-secondary student returning to school on a full-time basis in the fall of 2017, a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigrant and Refugee Protection Act 2, be legally entitled to work under relevant provincial legislation and regulations.

Formal post-secondary theatre performance training and previous experience teaching youth theatre programs is ideal, but previous experience performing in community theatre and working with youth will be considered. Suitability for the artistic requirements of the available roles is also essential and applicants may be requested to attend an audition or submit a video audition. All positions are subject to funding approvals.
